Upgrading your Cadillac's Stock Brake System
If you want to upgrade your Cadillac's brake system without resorting to an all out race-oriented big brake kit, there are a couple of things you can do to give your Caddy some help in the braking department, and these upgrades are especially ideal to get your CTS-V ready for a track day weekend. Installing a StopTech Stage II Brake Kit will replace the OEM front rotors with performance designed high quality replacements while retaining your factory Cadillac brake calipers and our upgraded rotors from R1 Concepts even come complete with performance compound OEM Replacement brake pads. Replacing the OEM rotors with high-performance design rotors affords you the benefit of extra-wide cooling vanes and gives you the option of cross-drilling (great for venting hot exhaust gasses to help prevent/minimize brake fade) or slotting to keep the pads clean and biting evenly - or even both drilled and slotted to get the benefits of both features. These features give the rotors additional cooling capacity, and combined with the performance brake pads formulated with a high-grip compound, giving your brakes some extra bite.
This upgrade package also features Stainless Braided Brake Lines and StopTech STR600 Performance Brake Fluid to match. The OEM brake lines of your Cadillac - and most cars- are made of reinforced rubber. When you push on the brake pedal, these hoses are put under pressure the hoses expand. The expansion is especially noticeable after the brake fluid gets hot, allowing it to boil and reduces pedal feel by adding to brake fade. Replacing the soft rubber OEM brake lines with Stainless Braided Lines will give you a firmer pedal feel. We offer brake upgrades from Brembo, StopTech, R1 Concepts and other fine marques.
