Despite the similarities between the OEM exhausts for vehicles equipped with the N55 and B58 engines (M235i and 335i for instance) AWE decided against adapting their existing 335i exhaust for use with the other vehicles that share the motor. Instead they opted to start over from scratch and create an exhaust that was tuned specifically for the M235i/M240i and takes into account the unique shape and length of the exhaust to provide the best power gains and acoustics possible.

The AWE Tuning BMW F22 M235i/M240i Exhaust Suite is available as:

• The F22 M235i/M240i Axleback Touring Edition Exhaust, featuring 180 Technology
• The F22 M235i/M240i Axleback Touring Edition Exhaust + Performance Mid Pipe Package
• The Performance Mid Pipe, independently (only confirmed compatible with AWE Tuning axle back)

All F22 M235i/M240i systems are outfitted with your choice of 90mm or 102mm double walled tips, in either Chrome Silver or Diamond Black.

All products are confirmed to fit both RWD and X Drive vehicles.

As exhaust gases exit the N55/B58 engines and flow into an AWE Tuning 180 Technology® equipped resonator, they pass through strategically located ports, and into reflection chambers. Sound waves, carried by these exhaust gasses, bounce off the walls of the reflection chambers. By controlling the size and location of the ports and the chambers, we also control when the sound waves exit the chambers. The specific timing of when the reflected sound waves rejoin the main exhaust flow creates a one-hundred-and-eighty-degree out-of-phase sound wave that cancels out problematic frequencies.

The AWE Tuning Performance Mid Pipe is non-resonated, and replaces the factory resonated section with straight-through 3-inch T304L stainless steel tubing that delivers the perfect exhaust note for those looking for all-out aggression. Ready to rumble.

The AWE Tuning F22 M240i/M235i Performance Mid Pipe is only confirmed to fit with AWE Tuning Touring Edition Exhausts. Fitment with stock, or other axle back units is not guaranteed.

Each F22 M235i/M240i Exhaust is TIG welded by hand, and flange openings are size matched to their ports, all to produce the smoothest flow possible. It is this intensive attention to detail that sets AWE Tuning exhaust products heads and shoulders above the rest.
