One could go on and on about how this muffler gives the sure-footed but mild-mannered Cayman / S the snarky bite they need. AWE Tuning's exhausts have earned praise from owners and the press alike, due to their unique ""Jekyll and Hyde"" personality. We spend considerable time and effort during development to achieve remarkable civility when idling and at part throttle cruising, while also producing a war-cry wail when full throttle is applied.
Fitment is bolt on, construction is 14 and 16 gauge T304 and T321 stainless steel throughout, all tubes are one piece mandrel bent, and the OEM tips can be reused, or you can opt for our dual 3"" polished or Diamond Black stainless beveled wall tips.
As with all AWE Tuning exhaust products, each TIG weld is hand finished internally, only butt-welded junctions are used, and flange openings are size matched to their ports, all to produce the smoothest flow possible.
This exhaust is made up of 2.5"" mandrel bent 304 stainless steel, and provides gains of 11hp and 9lb/ft tq. These numbers are proven on the dyno, and there is even a weight savings of 27lbs with the Touring Edition and 23lbs on the Track Edition. Both editions do not affect or alter any emissions devices and is street legal (from the manufacturer). The Track Edition includes the AWE Tuning X-Pipe for enhanced exhaust scavenging and improved tone (see second photo).
