This simple modification is so effective because of its larger diameter it allows the use of the high performance Euro MAF sensor on the US domestic market (USDM) E36 M3. The Euro MAF sensor is far more aggressive then the USDM MAF sensor. The aFe MAF Adapter allows for more air flow into the engine, and with the computer recalibrating the air flow mixture, it adds more fuel as well. Putting maximum amount and air/fuel into the combustion camber, which means pure horsepower and torque gains. The aFe MAF Adapter is made of 100% polyurethane, this adaptor has a stainless steel sleeve in the adaptor neck for added rigidity.
