everyone else has? The Gruppe M Air Ram System is for you, revel in the

"High-End Intake Systems" is made without compromise to maximize the
overall performance of all air intake systems as one complete unit. A
conical air filter, placed within the inner and outer of the center
cone, this controls air turbulences that in turn increases the speed of
airflow to accelerate. Each carbon intake is custom made specially to
meet the specification of each individual car and other mechanisms
within the systems, such as heat insulation and air-cooling are also
carefully designed to work in unison to produce the optimum performance
as the whole unit.
Airflow is a
significant ingredient to the combustion cycle of a high performance
engine. Therefore, the intake system cannot be ignored and must stand up
to the task of supplying the engine with not only clean air (free of any
residue or particle matter), but also maintain ample cooling to provide
the highest density possible, in addition to properly utilizing the ram
effect at high speeds, to effectively increase the volume of the intake
charge. These are key ingredients to bring out the full potential of

Center cone
In order to achieve even better air-intake rectification, center cones
have been installed in the filter tops and inners.
High-dimensional
four-layer cotton filter
The filter has multiple layers of natural cotton, strengthened using
stainless steel mesh. It is a wet type using special oil. It is
accordion-shaped, maintaining an enlarged air-intake area with control
of any deformation due to the negative pressure. With a grid structure,
the filter rectifies the air-intake while filtering. |

Q - What does an Intake do?
A.
Aftermarket intakes replaces
the OEM intake by a metal pipe with an air filter at the end. This
creates a performance boost due to its increased air volume intake. Many
speculate the amount of performance benefits that it provides, but
depending on how much the OEM intake restricted air flow the aftermarket
will provide performance enhancement accordingly. There is a debate
between cold air and short ram intakes. Many prefer cold air intakes due
to its higher increase in performance.
Q -
How much horsepower / torque will I
gain?
A.
Depending on the
intake type, and application horsepower and torque gains will be
generated accordingly. Whether cold air or ram air much of the gains are
debated. Depending on how restrictive the OEM intake was, exact
horsepower and torque gains are debatable.
Q - Will installing an
aftermarket Intake void
warranty?
A.
Intakes do not void warranty.
A dealership cannot "void the warranty on the whole car" just because
you have an aftermarket intake or aftermarket wheels. If they are trying
to deny warranty service, they must prove that the mod caused the
problem. Of course, adding a turbo kit (for example) can put a lot of
stress on the engine itself, as well as to the drivetrain. Don't be
surprised if the dealer refuses to perform warranty service on a heavily
modified car, that's just common sense.
This is all part of the "Magnuson-Moss" Warranty Act, which protects
consumers against dishonest business practices by:
"The Act makes it easier for purchasers to sue for breach of warranty by
making breach of warranty a violation of federal law, and by allowing
consumers to recover court costs and reasonable attorneys' fees."
(In short, they cannot void your warranty if your mod could not have
caused the problem)

Q - Will I Hydro-Lock?
A.
Depending on the location / type of intake hydro-Locking is when the
intake inducts water rather than air. This process causes the engine to
either shut off for a period of time, or permanently damaging the
engine. This often happens with cold air intakes due to the location of
the filter.
Q - Does an intake increase gas
mileage?
A.
Yes, gas mileage
will improve because the harder the engine works to suck in air through
the OEM intake the car uses up more gas. With a less restrictive intake,
and one with quicker response will save gas. |
