Your stock G37's intake is ineffective, pulling in air through two small holes behind the front bumper. Although providing cold air, this system still starves the power tuned 3.7L V-6 engine of air. The placement of the unique single air filter in the area in front of the radiator guarantees a supply of cool, high pressure fresh air for maximum power gains. The Takeda philosophy of "no cutting or drilling" is maintained with this intake system, as flexible urethane couplings are used to pass through existing openings in the radiator core support.
