FAQ's
Can I order this bumper pre-painted?
No, we do not offer painting services on these bumpers. It is recommended that you have the bumper pre-fitted on your car before doing any painting, and have the painting done by a local body shop to you. This is a service that most body shops are VERY comfortable providing to customers. Having it painted by a local body shop is also the most effective way to get a proper color match.
How much will this cost to have painted/installed?
$300 for paint and $100 for install would be fair estimates for quality work. Not cheap but not that expensive either! Prices will vary based on the shop you take this to. A lot of them will price things based on how busy they are. If they are really busy the price will be high, if they really need something to do, they will probably cut you a deal. Just try to negotiate with them.
Modifications to Bumper/Fender
During Installation:
As far as fitting these bumpers on face-lifted vehicles, the brackets on
these bumpers do not fit face-lifted vehicles (which does not come as a surprise to most of you). Not a problem for any competent body shop. You can choose to order pre-facelift brackets if you wish. However my body shop was not as confident using the aftermarket guide on the bumper. So he simply took the brackets off the bumper, and bolted the bumper on the car using two bolts on each side of the bumper into the fenders (10 mm). Very secure. This bumper is not going anywhere. So the only modification to the bumper itself is drilling two holes to mount to the fender (instead of using the brackets). The body shop also used two tabs on the top of the bumper to secure it to the reinforcement bar.

*NOTE*
Please be advised that this bumper requires prep work and primer
before painting. This includes some sanding and filling on the bumper to
make it perfectly smooth and ready for paint. In most cases, this adds
to the cost the body shop will charge you for painting the bumper. NOTE:
This bumper is manufactured in the same factory as all other retailers
who are selling this bumper. All aftermarket bumpers and body kits
require prep-work prior to painting, and this is considered completely
normal. |
