HyperPac Performance Tuning
HyperPAC's Performance Tuning Feature Provides All of the Features of
Hypertech's Legendary Power Programmer, Plus A Whole Lot More!
Performance Tuning provides all the
features of Hypertech's legendary Power Programmer, including the most
powerful 50 State, Street-Legal Power Tuning available. There are two
programs; one for regular and one for premium gas. Diesel owners can
switch between any of three different horsepower levels. And for all
trucks, Hypertech Power Tuning is developed for the maximum towing
weights allowed by the manufacturer. The Performance Tuning program also
allows adjustments to:
- the RPM rev limiter.
- the transmission's shift points and
shift firmness.
- the electric cooling fan on/off
temperatures (for cooler thermostats).
- the speedometer and odometer to
correct (as required by Federal Law) for non-stock tire sizes and/or
gear ratios, and...
- the vehicle top speed limiter to
match the speed rating of high performance tires.
The HyperPAC allows a complete review of
all performance selections on a single screen before reprogramming the
vehicle, or to review currently programmed selections.

Feature Simulates a Real Drag Strip!
Drag Strip simulates a real drag strip. A
"christmas tree" start produces an exact duplication of a drag strip
time slip...reaction times, 60 ft., 330, 1/8th-mile, 1000 ft., and
1/4-mile speeds and e.t.'s.
The HyperPAC also displays a
"magazine-type road test," acceleration times in ten mile per hour
increments, zero to 10, 20, 30...mph, 'til you take your foot out of it!
All test sessions are automatically saved, for later comparison and
review.

HyperPac Dynamometer
HyperPAC's Dynamometer Results Are As, Or More Accurate than Expensive
Engine and Chassis Dynos!
Dynamomter calculates Horsepower and
Torque, at both the driving wheels and the engine with results as, or
more accurate than provided by expensive engine and chassis dyno
testing.
Dynamometer automatically displays, in
both tables and graphs, corrected Horsepower and Torque vs. RPM at the
engine and corrected Horsepower and Torque at the driving wheels. All
dyno test sessions are automatically saved for later comparisons and
review.

in both table and graph formats.
- Automatically corrects horsepower
and torque to Standard Temperature and Pressure (S.T.P.), allowing
valid comparisons between tests conducted under different

HyperPac Engine Monitor
HyperPAC's Engine Monitor Feature Continuously Displays Important Engine
Operating Conditions!
An advanced gauge package that allows
viewing of almost any engine function as an analog or digital gauge, the
Engine Monitor continuously displays important available engine
operating conditions, like RPM, ignition knock, oil pressure, water
temperature, and many more, user selectable from the menu. With the
addtion of your choice of HyperPAC DA Modules, you can also monitor
critical information like air/fuel ratio and exhaust gas temperatures.
And while testing, or to diagnose a
problem, touch "Start Recording" to record the event, and then touch
"Stop Recording." All tests are automatically saved for later comparison
and reveiw.
HyperPac Diagnostic
Diagnostics gives the user the ability to
read and clear Diagnostic Trouble Codes. It also provides an easy to
understand description, written in plain language, so there is no need
for shop manuals or service departments to explain it to you.

How Do We Tune?
Power Tuning is a procedure that Hypertech
invented and developed to improve the
performance and efficiency of
computer-controlled vehicles. An internal
combustion engine needs air, fuel, and spark the
familiar "Combustion Triangle" illustrated here.
Hypertech Power Tuning optimizes these three
elements to produce maximum performance. An
engine's power output is directly proportional
to the amount of air and fuel that it can burn.
Hypertech Power Tuning maximizes engine
performance by burning the air/fuel mixture as
efficiently as possible, thereby extracting
maximum power. Power Tuning replaces the stock
calibrations in the onboard computers used in
late-model cars and trucks. These complex
programs control important engine functions such
as spark timing and fuel delivery. The only way
to modify fuel delivery and spark timing to
increase power is to optimize the tuning
information supplied to the computer. This is
exactly what Hypertech Power Tuning does.
It is a slow, demanding, expensive process, but
it is the only way to optimize engine tuning.
Only Hypertech has the personnel, the custom
equipment, and the dedication to do it...for all
tuning products.
The Art and Science of Power Tuning
The team of engineers and technicians at our R&D
center in Memphis uses two computerized chassis
dynamometers to develop the most powerful tuning
programs possible. First they experimentally
adjust the spark timing to obtain the highest
torque and power readings at a given engine rpm.
Then they adjust the air/fuel ratio to obtain
the highest possible power and torque readings
that an optimized air/fuel mixture can produce.
After the spark timing and air/fuel ratio for
that particular engine speed have been
optimized, the rpm is increased to the next
point and the entire procedure is repeated
again. The process continues, point by point, up
to the engine's maximum speed. This technique is
called experimental, point-by-point curve
fitting. There is no more effective way to power
tune an engine.
Hypertech Power Tuning calibrations are
extensively road tested under "real world"
driving conditions to verify their performance.
The result: Power gains you can feel and
dependability you can trust! The results can be
very impressive. For example, our Max Energy
Power Programmer for Dodge Cummins 5.9L HO
Diesels produced a gain of 285 ft./lbs. torque
and 174 horsepower without opening the hood!
How Power Tuning Works
The factories tune for average drivers who might
buy low-octane gasoline and lug the engine. Our
calibrations are engineered for drivers who care
about performance and use premium-grade fuel.
Gains of 10 to 20 horsepower with 3 to 7 tenths
of a second improvement in acceleration times
from 0 to 70 mph are typical - some improvements
are even greater. However, some applications can
enjoy tuning specifically for regular fuel. You

Hypertech Power Tuning makes trucks and sport
utility vehicles come alive, too. These drivers
will have more power for climbing hills, hauling
heavy loads, and accelerating onto freeways.
Power Tuning is an exact science. Much of the
equipment we use was designed and built by
Hypertech engineers specifically for software
engineering and high-performance engine tuning.
We don't do "generic" tuning at Hypertech - we
power tune to optimize performance for specific
applications. Our advanced technology allows us
to store a huge amount of information in a
package that fits in the palm of your hand.
Hypertech's Max Energy Power Programmer contains
numerous Power Tuning programs. When you connect
the Max Energy Power Programmer to a vehicle,
its "smart" program instantly recognizes the
vehicle's powertrain by reading its Vehicle
Identification Number (VIN). The VIN contains
specific information on the engine,
transmission, and drivetrain, which the Power
Programmer decodes before it downloads the Power
Tuning program that is precisely tailored to
that particular powertrain.
Increasing horsepower and torque is as simple as
pushing a button with Hypertech's Max Energy
Power Programmer. You simply plug the Max Energy
Power Programmer into the underdash diagnostic
connector, answer a series of "Yes/No"
questions, and the Power Programmer does the
rest. Hypertech's Max Energy Power Programmer
also allows you to return to the original
factory-installed engine calibrations in just a
few minutes. Hypertech Power Tuning is
emission-legal in all 50 states and does not
void the vehicle's factory warranty. Hypertech
Power Tuning puts fun and excitement into

"I have to tell you about my
experience with your Power Programmer III on my 2004 F150
2wd Super Crew with a 5.4 3-valve. After reading the
instructions, I did the installation as the Programmer
instructed, and in about 15 minutes it was all done. And
wow! Even with the 87-octane setting the truck had better
low speed throttle response along with an improved top end
acceleration. But the biggest difference was in the way the
transmission shifted at wide open throttle. It bang shifted
through all the gears with no lag, and yet around town it
acted like a stocker. The icing on the cake was when I took
the truck on vacation for over 3600 miles and I averaged
over 18.1 mpg at an average speed of 74.4 mph. When the
truck was stock I took a 2400 mile trip and it only got 16.4
mpg at about the same average speed. That's over a mile and
a half per gallon better! What a great product! Easy to
install and you get the gains in performance as advertised.

"I just want to tell you how great I think your product is.
I have a 2003 Ford F250 4X4 4 Door 7.3 Liter Turbo Diesel. I
bought your Hypertech Power Programmer, part #41029 from my
friends parts store in Garden City, Michigan, and I put the
Stage 3 engine program in, also the firmer shifts. It is as
different as night and day. I really like that you just
touch the gas and you get results. Before, just to take off
normally, I had to mash the gas pedal down about half way to
get it moving. But now, just a touch of the gas and you're
gone. I am impressed. I was gonna buy Superchips but wanted
to give the Power Programmer a try. I am at a loss for words
from the gains I got. I put a spankin' on my buddies lighter
Hemi Dodge Truck that went 15.0s in the 1/4 mile. I just
want to relay my good experience.
I will tell everyone about your product. I am taking some
friends for a ride in it later to show them the before and
after. I put it back to stock to show a buddy just how much
it helped. My buddy thought I had put propane in the truck
it pulled so hard and just kept pulling and gaining speed.
In my opinion, you can't get any better for the money than

for the performance and money. I have a '99 GT Mustang that
