Description:

A big restriction in the stock M2 Comp exhaust is definitely the midpipe. The factory design utilizes resonators and a crossover to reduce overall noise and drone, however this setup is very restrictive and leads to an odd rhythm of the exhaust gasses. By using a single pipe, Active Autowerke was able to eliminate the pressure irregularity present in the stock exhaust and free up the overall flow of the exhaust gasses. Using a single pipe also helps to reduce the overall weight of the exhaust because one bigger pipe still uses less metal than two smaller pipes. You also lose the weight of the factory resonators. This means that your car will have: more power, less weight, and a kickass sound.
